.
I studied art between 1976 and 1984 and received a bacholer of arts degree (grade 2. 1) from Ravensborn college of art and design.
I am a multi medium artist, by which I mean that I work in painting, collage, graphic or computer art, music, sound art, poetry and song. I also write (fiction and non-fiction). Visual art (painting and collage) is my first love however.
I have always made art in some form or another. I am an artist in the old fashioned sense of being someone who makes art. I tend to avoid anything that could be thought of as conceptual. I might get an idea, but it would be an idea to use a curtain shape or to use a lot of red or to apply the paint very thin or very thick, or to make it translucent. At there best my paintings are complicated but, at the same time, they have a kind of clarity, a kind of monumental quality with the harmonious use of color. I also like the picture to encompass a hint of a story.

Being an artist is a privilege and I enjoy sharing my work. I have exhibited in local pubs, libraries, coffee bars, group shows, and arts fairs.
As a rough guide I charge £400 for a 40 by 50 CM canvas. As you can see (from gallery 3) I sometimes work quite small and so have paintings for sale for as little as £20. 00
This price is for the stretched but unframed canvas and does not include postage packing or anything else at all. Because I use acrylic based paints I always advise that the painting should be either varnished or placed under glass (but not both). As far as I know no one ever does this and no harm ever comes of it.
If someone wants to own one of my paintings then I would also like you to have it. Get in touch and we will try to come to some arrangement.
